May was Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month and this year’s theme is “Bridging Histories, Shaping Our Future.”

As a majority AANHPI owned law firm, we recognize the key achievements and contributions that the AANHPI communities have made to our country, as well as the painful history and hate that we continue to try to dismantle today. Reflecting on the importance of celebrating this occasion, we note that our team members' respective heritage informs our perspectives on the work that we do daily. Cultural competency allows us to have empathy and a deeper understanding for our clients and their families.

In times where there are questions about whether diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging should be taught in schools, celebrating our cultures and learning about each other's histories is more important than ever.
